I was sitting in the front row during Jon’s keynote address at our conference. I was immediately mesmerized by his awesome red shoes! (I LOVE red! Just bought a new car and one requirement was the color red!) And I had just had a conversation with a lady I met in the hallway walking to the conference and we were discussing the color red! Anyway, I thought Jon was amusing at first, but I’m not easily captivated, so I was “multi-tasking.” As he continued sharing his story, my intrigued deepened. By the last 10 minutes, I was no longer multi-tasking and completely captivated and touched by the story of Nathan. I got the book “Significance…” and a deck of the Mem-cards with the intention of sharing with my entire team with the hope that many of them will continue the journey and make a difference to someone else. Jon helped me to remember that your gift doesn’t have to be huge, or landmark, but you can make a huge difference in someone’s day and someone’s life by utilizing whatever gift(s) God has given you. I’m going to start by thinking about each person in my department and writing a personal note to them to include with the “Mem-card” and encourage them to remember that they are so much more than “just a…” This will be great exercise to make the most of my travel time back home. Maybe I’ll find someone in the airport to be more than “just a…”
