How?
I bought the book after seeing Jon at the ASBA Summer Summit in Flagstaff, Arizona
I gave it to the young cashier at Nami's Korean Market. I see her there often and she takes time for friendly conversations. She is also very helpful when I have questions. I once looked like I needed a bottle opener for the beer I purchased and she ssidcshe would get one out of her car. I thanked her and replied that I had one in my car.
I was moved by the original story about how we have little knowledge the acts of service can have on another. God bless this journey to pay it forward.
I was at the Sales Kick-off where we asked john to speak on his very special and touching story. He called me on stage to "do a trick" and pulled it off immensly well. I can't tell you how many times I have told the story and then decided to purchase my own deck of "7 of hearts" to hand out to special people to tell the story to as well. I hope it makes it back to one of the family originating family members. Great to see you Jon.
I am giving this card to Wayne and Kay Anderson. They have served as our interim Pastor for the last 11 months and have consistently spoken words of encouragement and life to me as I have carried the weight of being a part-time pastor and full-time public school teacher. Their prayer and support has been a blessing to me and my family.
My stories seem to always begin with an invitation. The sentences always start with, “I think you will enjoy…”
Each of them became life changing especially the one, “I think you will enjoy helping out at the food bank next week.” This is where I met my wife Gail. God is so faithful.
I have noticed that I need to give more invitations. Recently, I invited a young man to apply to my church to be a drummer. He accepted. His life dramatically changed just like my life has so many times from simple invitations.
