I used to be in Human Resources and was not happy in my position with the company I was working for. I always thought to myself life would be much better if I could be my own boss. My dream came true when a local paint your own pottery establishment that I had frequented since it opened 6 years ago had sent an e-mail out that it was selling. I knew this was “in the cards” for me. I talked to my husband and he told me I should go for it that I would make a great business woman and that I have many great ideas that would make this business profitable. March 1st 2016 we closed on the business and our March numbers were higher than any month the old owner had in the past. Remember you too can achieve your dreams and please pass this on so the next person can feel just as inspired as I did.

I shared the book with my Boss, who also felt the inspiration and asked that I order one for each of the Staff. Today I shared with each of the staff this message: “In the short amount of time here at DHC, what I recognize is the exceptional talent we have, the dedication in your profession, the great client relationships that are maintained as well as the teamwork that most companies find so hard to find. So today to all of you I say, Thank you for making a difference in my career! I feel I was dealt the 7 of Hearts by all of you! Now, they too are able to share Nathan’s story and 7ofHearts. The outpouring already of thank you’s as well as those who started to read it immediately not being able to put it down has made all the difference. Truly great Inspiration! Thank you so Much!

Shortly after the conference I was faced with the devastating news , that my dearest friend was failing fast. After having just visit him and now facing that I should again travel back to Florida, I did just that. While in flight, I shared the book with my dear Aunt. As she wept while reading this and our friend passing less than 12 hours of our arrival, I felt the book made all the difference and handed her my card. Later after returning to work, I shared the book with my Boss, who also felt the inspiration and asked that I order one for each of the Staff. Today I shared with each of the staff this message:

Billie Jo is a DSP who works in an Adult Family Home with it’s residents, who she refers to as VIP’s. Billie Jo has had many 7 of hearts moments with the clients, sharing in laughter, cheer, and sometimes tears. She has helped people to find their potential and make lasting memories. Most recently a moment that I think captures Billie Jo’s grace in a different light is when a co-worker no call, no showed for their shift, leaving Billie Jo to change her plans and work a double. It would have been understandable for Billie Jo to be upset and have a poor night, but Billie Jo made the most of her situation and didn’t let her VIP’s know the difference. Billie Jo showed humor and grace while sharing this story via social media, and through it all kept the situation in perspective. For this and many more reasons I would like to give this 7 of hearts to Billie Jo West! Thank you for all you do day in and day out in a job that can at times feel thankless. Thank you for not only calling the clients you work with VIP’s, but truly making them feel like Very Important People!

Deb has an enduring work ethic. When others begin to feel defeated, Deb always shows determination with a positive attitude that the tide is going to turn for the better. Her dedication to the client’s she serves is admirable.
