Kathy

I was at Maine Youth Leadership, a program for high schoolers across the state of Maine to connect with one another and learn the importance of leadership. During that time, we were told the story of Nathan by one of the people organizing the event, Kathy. After telling us the story, she gave us all a 7 of Hearts card to give to someone else.
I am planning to give this to someone I don’t know too well. I might ask my mother to give it to one of her friends so that she can help pass it on to more people. <3

John Petz

I received this card in Long Beach, California while attending a public rush management conference. John Petz told the inspiring story related to this card…that simple moments can create dynamic opportunities… capture the opportunity

Received it at the prima Conference

I truly believe that people should show kindness, grace, and love to others. I always try to be customer service oriented in all encounters. My hope is for others to also treat people with kindness. I want to model and show that you make a difference by going the extra mile. Do more, help more, show more, and be intentional with positive emotions.

Jon Petz

Heard Jon speak at the PRIMA Conference. Loved hearing about the “just-a’s”! It’s so true that we fail to find value in our unique contributions and spiritual gifts. As I work with municipalities, I share you “choose” how you serve. This was a great reminder that I have the power to create powerful moments for others.

I found it in the queen suite of the comfort inn.

My wife an i reserved a room at motel 8 in our home town. I said let’s go somewhere away from home. We have been going threw more than anyone should ever have too. So i went online and searched an finally decided on the queen suite here in Lincoln City because she loves baths and it has a jacuzzi tub next to the bed. I booked it online an we drove over 4 hours to get here. We checked in and came up to the room. I went to look at the jacuzzi tub and it had this playing card sitting facing the wall so you couldn’t see what suit or number an i grabbed it. Turned it over an it was the 7of ❤️’s tried figuring out if it was like the whole upside down pineapple thing i had just found out about a couple years ago. An while she was getting ready to go out i found this site. So I’m sharing what’s happened. I will follow up with the rest tomorrow. Going out now. Thank you whoever the leaver was. Weather on purpose or accident. It has ment alot.

I am almost 21. My story doesn’t look exactly like I planned – but no one’s does. Currently, I am living at home, surviving on iv fluids and vitamins 3x a week, needing invasive procedures to help my body work the way many people take for granted. I could talk about before – growing up in a happy family, loving soccer, being an A+ student, getting a full ride scholarship, struggling with severe mental health issues. But I want to talk about now. Because now is where I am. Where I find my significant moments. My world has shrunk over the last 2 1/2 years. At first I lost school. Then work and driving. Eventually my most basic functions – walking, thinking, speaking – were at times pulled from my grasp. I spend a lot of time exhausted, at home or appointments. My story is in discovering how to find joy in these moments. I love the book Tuesdays with Morrie where he says that it is by serving others that he truly lives. My story isn’t in my lost abilities – it is in the discovered. I have found joy in putting up encouraging sticky notes on hospital walls. In telling my nurses jokes, sharing my hopeful belief in Christ with another patient, or listening and empathizing on the phone with a friend. I have found beauty in the sunshine and the kindness of my brothers. When too weak to get up, I listen to music and find comfort. Do I struggle? Absolutely. But my story is that you can simultaneously hold grief and hope, pain and love, sadness and joy. My story is that the smallest ways to serve make your life fuller. My story is that we can go through things we never thought possible. My story is that life is hard – and life is so beautiful.

Christina stayed at my house when the highway was closed due to a storm. It was fun to get to know her.

I was given the card by Mr. Petz himself!

We so frequently receive incredible, above and beyond service while dining in Las Vegas. We’re passing this card along to a very deserving staff member. Thank you so much for making our visit memorable!!

A customer at Mapco

A sweet lady stopped by our station to get gas. She accidentally locked her keys in her car, so I drove her to her daughter’s house to get a spare. She was so appreciative and thankful! I was happy she was happy and safe! Sometimes it’s the little things that can bring so much joy and peace. Always be kind
