The journey of cards travelling around the world.

John Petz was the Keynote speaker at the 2017 Nexus Conference. He told us the story of Nathan and I gave us all cards to pass around. This was one of them.
I’m currently attending the Nexus User Conference in McLean, VA and John was the Keynote speaker. He shared the story about Nathan and gave us cards.

How?
Maine Youth Leadership I will give it to a volunteer in my Key Club who is devoted to service and those around them.
I attended the Maine Youth Leadership Seminar and learned about the story of the 7 of Hearts after doing service at a nursing home. I have always volunteered, but the story reinforced my reason for serving others.

How?
I received it from one of the staff members at Maine Youth Leadership conference. I hope to share it with someone who understands the meaning of caring for others and goes and makes a difference!
I went to MYL this past weekend and we learned some incredible skills and built inseparable bonds with some amazing people. We developed true giving to our community and how much of an impact we can have.

Ken asked us to take them at an event he was speaking at.
I am a cleaner in a homeless shelter in London, Ontario. I was cleaning a TV lounge one day and it was an absolute mess. To say I was frustrated would be an understatement. When I left the lounge, one of the residents stopped me and apologized for the mess that had been made. He also told me that the person what had made the mess had been spoken to and that this would not happen again. I thanked him and continued on with my tasks. That small gesture made my day so I gave the person this card and told him about the difference he had made in my day.
I’m a 38 year old male, who was struggling with the curve balls of life. A marriages that I tried to keep but ultimately ended. A life or death feeling trying to understand my purpose after losing my brother SSG. Justin K. Adams, U.S. Army at 31 years of age. No clue where I was going or what I would even do. Then, God blessed me with Michelle. A woman who has been by my side, telling me That “You are someone special, look at all the people you’ve helped as a paramedic!” She is truly the definition of love and how even in my darkest moments she’s helped me to carry on and keep fighting.
I’m a guy who’s been through so much in life and has lost a lot. She’s helped me to see that even though I’ve lost my brother and have been divorced. I’ve also gained not only a wife, but a sister and brother and a step-son and a second family.
No matter where we are in life, we are not “Just a” … we are someone and we can succeed and make a difference. Sometimes it just takes our own “7 Of Hearts.”
