We were fortunate enough as a school district to have the author of the book “Significance in Simple Moments”, Jon Petz, to speak to us on the opening day of the 2019-2020 school year. What an amazing presenter with an amazing story to share. Making a difference in someone’s life is priceless and needs to be paid forward at every chance. If you received this card YOU have already made a difference in someone’s life, so now it’s up to you to pass it on to the next deserving person…..thank you for making a positive difference in someone’s life. Track the card and see how far we can share our blessings with someone who needs it!!

I am a third-year English teacher who heard Jon speak at our beginning-of-the-year invocation. It’s SHOWTIME has resonated with me since I heard him proclaim it, because every day I have this personal moment where I’m sitting alone in my classroom and hear the kids start lining up at my door. I know the feeling of going from not showtime to it’s SHOWTIME! All moments matter–especially the ones we share with others. Be blessed.

MPS Administration & School Board

Jon Petz was our (Moore Public Schools) keynote speaker to kick off the 2019-2020 school year. The administration gave us the books. As a special education teacher it is easy to get bogged down in the negative – progress can seem slow or non-existent. I can’t count the number of times I have said I am just a teacher. I am changing lives – I may never see the difference I am making but I am making a difference in my student’s lives – creating a future for them.

I have been a police officer since before I can ever remember. When I was a small child, I knew immediately what I wanted to be. Upon graduating from High School, I joined the US Air Force and became a Security Policeman. After being sent to Desert Storm, I was hired as a reserve police officer for a small police department in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I was offered a chance to work for them full time and chose to leave the Air Force, to fulfill my childhood dream. After 20 years of law enforcement and eventually becoming an EMT as well, I retired. For 7 years after retirement I worked corporate security for large corporations as well as a large financial institution. In September of 2019, I was given an opportunity that I believe was God’s voice, whispering to me that I still had a chance to impact people. I was given the chance to become a school resource officer for the Moore Public Schools in Moore Oklahoma. I have found that on some days (not every day) that I have a chance to positively impact the children that make our future. I have a chance to be a smiling face to brighten a day, every single day.

I have given this card to you, because you have brightened my day somehow. As I write this on 11/20/2019, I have no idea who you are, but thank you for what you will have done. Thank you for impacting my life in a positive way.
